Description
Honda S600 — 1965 — Matching Numbers — Full restoration 2023–2025. 48, 500 original km. 100% rebuilt.
A rare opportunity to own an authentic and finest-restored Honda S600s currently available for sale.
A clear, documented history
Sold new in Switzerland, this S600 was later exported to Belgium — in non-running condition — then kept in dry storage for many years. It underwent a complete restoration between 2023 and 2025, carried out without the slightest compromise. Everything was opened up, inspected and replaced. Gearbox, dashboard gauges, chain drive... all rubber parts, silent blocks and seals were replaced. The upholstery is new; the seats have been re-padded and re-covered in a very handsome faux leather. The dashboard is not cracked, not covered over, and all onboard instrumentation is fully functional.
It is registered in Belgium and comes with a copy of the Swiss registration certificate. Various workshop, maintenance and parts-list manuals will be handed over to the buyer.
A 100% original body
No welding, no replaced panels: the entire body is original, as documented by the many photographs taken throughout the restoration. Original colour, original chassis and engine.
An engine recently rebuilt by the leading specialist
The engine was first rebuilt in 2023–2025, before the current owner acquired the car. In 2026, judging the oil consumption too high, the current owner chose the demanding route: a second complete rebuild entrusted to Germany's leading Honda S600/ S800 specialist, with the support and advice of Michael Ortmann (the definitive reference for the marque), who supplied the necessary parts. On this occasion:
Pistons, rings and liners replaced with new parts (+0. 50 oversize)
Camshafts rebalanced, new timing chain, all engine gaskets new
Cylinder head replaced with a reconditioned one supplied by Michael Ortmann
The Keihin carburettors were sent to Germany and then tuned by Mathias Ortmann, who carried out the finest adjustments on his own personal S600. Points ignition replaced with electronic ignition (Pertronix Ignitor)
Only 1, 500 km covered since the engine rebuild: the car starts instantly, the engine is smooth, powerful and misses no beat. No leaks, no oil consumption. The engine revs freely as it should. The running-in stages and warm-up times were respected.
The sale includes a second, near-complete engine (block, cylinder head, crankshaft, carburettor, liners...) in component form — a considerable asset for the car's longevity and value.
A fully accomplished collector's item, for the discerning enthusiast.
