Description
1993 Jaguar XJS Coupe 4 litre Automatic
With just three owners from new, I bought the Jaguar in 2004 from a good friend and owned it for the past 22 years. It has led a comfortable life, garaged and well maintained. My friend had owned it since 1997. When I purchased it the Jaguar had covered 87, 000 miles. I have added a further 17, 000 miles, an average of approximately 800 miles a year. Always a second car, I’ve enjoyed tinkering more than driving, and I have been fastidious about the maintenance and recently completed some restoration where necessary.
Work included professional reconstruction of the screen surround which had corroded (pictures available) in 2021, complete front and rear brake rebuild in 2024, and new front suspension bushes in 2018.
Overall it is in excellent condition with no signs of corrosion on either the body or underside. The attractive Flamenco Red metallic paintwork is acceptable but there are minor marks and blemishes, particularly on the boot lid.
The Oatmeal leather interior presents well with no tears or substantial areas of wear. The driver’s side bolster is slightly worn but not damaged. The carpets are clean and have been protected under mats so they are in excellent condition. The woodwork is all good with no signs of cracks or splits. I re-covered the centre console with black vinyl as the wood had split and become unsightly.
Under the bonnet the engine bay is spectacularly clean and well preserved; it looks like new! The Jaguar drives exceptionally well and there are no warning lights showing, or issues that need addressing. It’s ready to be enjoyed straight away with no annoying problems.
There are plenty of bills and receipts on file, including service receipts from it early life. The current MoT is valid until April 2027. I have carried on from the previous owner and kept meticulous maintenance records, with lots of Mot certificates and lists of work completed.
The Jaguar is currently wearing its original 1993 registration, but I recently removed the private registration K100 XJS which is now on retention. This can be included in the sale by negotiation.
Open to sensible offers and viewings by genuine buyers by appointment, the Jaguar is located in Lancing, West Sussex. Further detailed photos including underside, body detail, wheels etc PLUS VIDEO available on request.
