This is an honest, running classic which I bought off a gentleman who was selling it on behalf of the previous owner who unfortunately passed away.
Due to illness, the previous owner had this wonderful machine in a garage, unused and unloved for a few years.
Upon buying this bike, I have fitted a brand new AMAL carburetor. With a new battery, this is all the bike needed to fire up and start straight away, after years of not being run!
The patina is of an unrestored bike, retaining so much character and charm. It is quite a head turner, people will love to chat to you about this bike.
The bike is leaky and will leave drops of oil on your driveway. Personally, this is fairly normal for an old British classic. I just keep it topped up and it does not seem to mind the leaks!
The rear brake is a little funky, it works completely fine but makes a racket when you really push down on it. I am unsure on what this issue is, perhaps a rubbing piece of linkage.
I do have some historical documents with the bike, documenting owner transfers as far back as the 1970s, with all the original old V5 slips of the era.
The bike even still has its 1963 tax disc fitted! You can just about still read it.
I have recently fitted a brand new Reynolds chain and a kickstart return spring, as the old one snapped. I have also fitted a new front headlight, and the rear one works great.
The patina is wonderful!
It comes with the original 1963 tax disc.
Still retains paperwork from decades ago.
