Description
Matching serial numbers. One of 25 "Daytona Spec" Manx sent to North America fitted with kickstarters to comply with AMA race rules. Mechanically refurbished with 10. 5 Omega forged piston and Bennett roller rockers etc. All original main components Dunlop alloys etc etc. Many quality parts sourced from Paul Norman, Stu Rogers and Ian Bennett. Still running the original RN carb and it is a bear to kickstart with my arthritic knees! No trades and price is firm . Lots of new and good used spares included in price.
I purchased this 25 years ago from an old racer friend who actually rode this bike on the streets around Detroit/ Windsor when he was well into his seventies! He was very much a Rudge and Norton man and raced successfully at many venues in the Michigan/ Ontario region pre WW2. It is unusual to find one of these bikes that still has the matching frame and engine numbers as it was quite common practice to swap engines into pre war or other rigid frames to compete in dirt flat track racing
