1981 Triumph TR7 – 21, 737 Miles
A very original UK TR7 with just 21, 737 miles from new.
The first owner covered 18, 557 miles in five years, after which the car spent most of the next 40 years in storage, covering just another 3, 180 miles.
The unusual thing about this car is how untouched it is. It has never been welded and still retains its original interior, carpets and hood. The underside is exceptionally clean and I believe most of the paintwork is original.
It isn't perfect. There are a few small marks and dings from its 45 years and a small area of rust at the bottom of the nearside door, shown in the photos. I've left these alone rather than start restoring an otherwise very original car.
I've spent over £6, 000 with TR7 specialists Robsport International properly recommissioning it, including clutch and hydraulics, brakes, fuel pump, period-correct tyres, hoses, service, battery, starter, exhaust and electronic ignition.
It's not a restored show car. It's simply a very low-mileage, largely untouched TR7 that has somehow survived 45 years without ever needing welding.
The car comes with an extensive history file, including numerous MOT certificates that document and verify its exceptionally low mileage. It has a new MOT, is Historic Vehicle registered. I became only the second owner on 20 June 2023.
