Description
One of only 26 narrow-body FV3s produced – Manual Pont-à-Mousson gearbox
A particularly desirable and exceptionally well-documented example of the Facel Vega FV3, chassis 57-166, delivered new in France on 20 December 1956.
The FV3 represents one of the most significant early generations of Facel Vega’s V8 grand touring cars, combining French coachbuilding elegance with American V8 performance. The model was produced in very limited numbers, and this particular car benefits from the highly sought-after narrow-body configuration, of which only 26 examples were produced.
The combination of the 4. 5-litre V8 and four-speed manual Pont-à-Mousson gearbox gives the FV3 a particularly engaging character, while retaining the exceptional refinement and presence for which Facel Vega became famous.
The car is offered directly by its private owner in France.
Viewing is welcome by appointment. I can provide additional photographs, documentation and detailed information to genuinely interested collectors.
A documented history
Chassis 57-166 was delivered on 20 December 1956 to its first known owner, Mr Defays, at Château de Rougeville.
Its history has been researched and documented, with an important file of invoices and supporting documents accompanying the car.
The car also benefits from several period details which contribute to its originality and character, including its Robergel wheels and Pathé Marconi radio.
