Description
Triumph Stag
1971.
Bought this car last year after the previous owner parked it up after losing his wife.
There is no history to this car as the last owner lost it all in the 12months it was left in his dry garage.
The last mot was in 2007, the Stag has definitely been restored since then as any inspection will show with no filler at all (bring your magnet)
Underneath the car is very solid and the rear end has been reconditioned with new bushes and springs etc.
Bodywork is fine but the paint could be better but from 10yds it looks fine and it polishes up nice.
The black interior is probably original but I have replaced both the doorcards one for new and the n/ side with a very good s/ hand.
The seats are reasonable and very usable and the carpets are good. I have recently fitted a brand new pair of seatbelts. The car has one crack on the dash.
This car has a great engine that starts fine from cold it's just had an oil and filter change. Its not smokey at all and has a newish stainless exhaust.
The original radiator has just been replaced with a new uprated core costing me £320 and the cooling system has been flushed and filled with new blue antifreeze.
The hood is not the best and ideally needs a new plastic rear window but is weatherproof, no hard top.
The car drives fine and the autobox goes up and down reasonably smoothly, it's on standard 14" steel wheels and hubcaps but I have bought a set of alloys and wheelnuts that can go with the car.
The Stag will be a great base for taking to the next level with not too much needed but is ideal for using as is if you want a jump in and drive classic.
Any trial,
