** Alfa Romeo 2600 Touring Spider – 1962 – Fully Documented Restoration**
We are delighted to offer this beautiful Alfa Romeo 2600 Touring Spider, an elegant and increasingly sought-after model from Alfa Romeo’s illustrious history. Designed and bodied by Carrozzeria Touring, this open-top grand tourer combines refined Italian styling with the smooth six-cylinder character for which the marque is renowned. First registered on 28 February 1962, it represents a particularly appealing example of Alfa Romeo’s celebrated 2600 series.
Since February 2019, the car has been in the care of its current Belgian owner. Prior to that, it spent an impressive 25 years in the same Dutch collection, reflecting a long history of considered ownership.
In 2009, the previous Dutch owner commissioned an extensive professional restoration, carried out to a high standard with considerable attention to detail. All invoices have been preserved, and the restoration process was comprehensively documented on two CDs. This accompanying archive provides a valuable record of the work undertaken and the investment made in the car’s preservation. In 2016, the gearbox was also fully overhauled, further demonstrating the attention devoted to its mechanical condition.
Today, this 2600 Touring Spider presents in excellent condition and is accompanied by an extensive history file documenting the work carried out over the years. It is fitted with highly desirable Borrani wire wheels, which complement its elegant Italian styling beautifully. The original wheels are also included, together with a beautifully restored hardtop, the original Solex 44PHH carburettors, the tool kit and the jack.
Combining timeless Touring coachwork, a substantial documented restoration and an appealing ownership history, this Alfa Romeo 2600 Touring Spider offers a rare opportunity to acquire a distinguished Italian classic with a wealth of supporting documentation and a particularly desirable set of original accessories.
