Description
Unique vintage restoration Original Moss engine and gearbox Upgraded suspension The iconic Jaguar XK120 was created in 1948 following the great success of Jaguar's concept study, presented at the British International Motor Show in 1948. At the time, the Jaguar XK120 was the fastest production car in the world, reaching speeds of no less than 192 km/ h (!). This Jaguar XK proudly takes its name from that record, where '120' stands for 120mp/ h (or 192 km/ h). Here you see a Jaguar XK120 OTS 50 roadster, both elegant and sporty. This car wears a beautiful colour combination: 'Cream' for the body, with a 'Biscuit' brown leather interior and a 'Sand' brown soft top. It's also the 'disc wheels' (very hard to find these days) that partially disappear behind the 'spats' (closed wheel arches) at the rear of this magnificent vehicle, which make this XK120 very elegant. Together with the split window, this creates a striking combo, a true style icon! But looks can be deceiving, because although this Jaguar has the looks to have won several beauty competitions, there's certainly no shortage of sportiness here. This 1950 XK120 is one of the first steel-bodied XKs, which makes it very interesting for the RT drivers among us. Needless to say, this early example is eligible for both the Mille Miglia and every other major event in the world. This Jaguar has undergone an older quality restoration, which means that the car is not only in excellent technical condition today, but also has a lovely patina. Under the bonnet is the familiar XK engine, very capable and sonorous, with original SU carburettors. The original and incredibly smooth Moss gearbox is, of course, also included. This car is in excellent condition inside and out, and the original brake drums are assisted by the upgraded suspension with adjustable gas shocks. Ready to hit the road! This beautiful Jaguar XK120 is now available from Rock N Roll Classics!
