Description
A motoring icon, the Jaguar E-Type was produced from 1961 to 1975. Designed by Malcolm Sayer, it combined elegance and modernity, inheriting the lines of the D-Type. Available as a cabriolet, coupé and 2+2 version, it evolved over the years, moving from an in-line six-cylinder to a V12 in 1971. Even today, the E-Type remains very popular with classic sports car enthusiasts and is a regular entry in the Tour Auto, where it shines as much for its performance as for its timeless style. The example we are offering for sale is a Series 1 coupé from 1965. Equipped with a 270bhp 4. 2l in-line six-cylinder engine, these are the most desirable models. This one is in very good condition.
The exterior paintwork is recent. The colour is original. The bodywork is flat. The alignment of the windows is satisfactory. The glazing is well preserved. The windscreen is slightly scratched, with one or more impacts of less than 1 cm in the field of vision.
The interior is also in very good condition. The leather has a patina but is not cracked. The car is fitted with its original wooden steering wheel and gear knob, and its 6-cylinder 4. 2L engine is matching numbers. The mechanical assembly has recently been checked and works very well. In 2025, this car underwent a major overhaul (€6, 000 bill): fluids, clutch master cylinder, exhaust silencer, etc. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further information.
