The Appeal

Undoubtably one of the most elegant two-door "pillarless" coupés of the 1970s, the Jaguar XJ-C was tragically short-lived; a real rarity even in its day. Just 6,487 4.2-litre XJ-Cs were made.

For fans of the model, we're pleased to offer this beautifully preserved US market example which has spent its life in sunny California. Repatriated to its native Great Britain in 2014 and converted to coveted European spec, this Jag would be a superb addition to any garage.

The vendor tells us:

"I bought the car from a couple in California USA in 2014. They were the second owner who also lived in California so I became the third owner. I wanted to switch the car to European spec which involved the removal of the US emission equipment, bumpers, headlamps and additional wing lights. This work was completed in 2016 and included fitting new carburettors, and new stainless exhaust. The steering and suspension joints were all replaced and the braking system fully overhauled including new calipers. The two fuel tanks were also replaced."
