1974 - Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I Ex-Yves Saint Laurent
French registration title
Châssis n° SRX 18941
- Ordered new from Franco Britannic by Yves Saint Laurent in July 1974, this Silver Shadow has had only three owners to date; that same year, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé set up their fashion house at 5 avenue Marceau in Paris
- In the hands of its current owner since 1991, this Silver Shadow was initially ordered in a special optional colour, Chicassion Blue, with dark brown leather upholstery, as attested by the copy of the purchase invoice and the warranty certificate contained in its file
- Repainted in the days of Yves Saint Laurent in a dark green metallic, it retains its beautifully patinated original upholstery; a chronic ailment on this model, some corrosion is on the rear wings, although this is not particularly serious (condition report available on request)
- We were astounded by the way it ran, both mechanically and in terms of driving comfort, highlighting the model's undeniable road-going qualities
- Launched in 1965, the Silver Shadow succeeded the opulent Silver Cloud and became the British firm's first Ponton; a key model with undeniable commercial success, it combined the exclusivity and refinement of the British Empire with the luxury and elegance that designer Yves Saint Laurent represented around the world
Est. 20 000 – 30 000 €
