2000 Rover Mini Cooper Sport S Works by John Cooper Garages. Finished in the last edition colours of Tahiti Blue and silver which are always very popular. It has a contrasting silver and black full leather trim with alloy effect dash board and signed John Cooper door handles, door pulls and window winders. The interior is finished off by factory fit red Rover over mats and a Rover radio cassette with 6 disc CD changer. The mini was taken to John Cooper Garages by its last owner in 2001 and converted to S Works specification bringing the power from 62 BHP to 90 BHP. It also had the optional big brake conversion with alloy brake callipers and vented brake discs. This all cost £2700 18 years ago! As part of the conversion it had a Janspeed exhaust fitted which in most cases have been replaced, so it is very exciting to see this one in place and in great condition. A lot of cars converted to S Works were fitted by a third party but this was fitted by John Cooper Garages so it has a Car Number conversion plate not a Kit Number conversion plate and I have the original invoice for all of the work carried out. By its first MOT in 2003 it was on 5400 miles and is now on just 9020 miles in the last 19 years. It has been owned by the same enthusiast owner for the last 18 years who has just used it in the summer months. It has always been garaged and as a result is in immaculate, original condition. To my eye it has never had any paintwork which is very reassuring to its new owner. It has been very well cared for and has a light coat of waxoil to the underside which has kept it in corrosion free condition. You can still see the blue paint underneath the waxoil in the wheel arch areas, sills and floor pans. The rear subframe area is also lightly waxoiled and equally in time warp condition. It has just been serviced to include 4 new Yokohama tyres as the originals looked good but were 19 years old!
Finding genuine John Cooper Garages S Works cars is hard, but to find one in this condition and mileage in the last edition colours and with a great history is very exiting.
