The Appeal
Looking at this gorgeous early E9 we’ll wager that there isn’t a better-looking coupe from that era. This car’s Fjord Blue metallic paintwork and neat accessories like the front spoiler and factory 14in multispoke all firmly enhance what is already a near-perfect Willhelm Hofmeister design.
The impression is helped here by the car’s collector-grade condition. We’re told that it has received a ‘nut and bolt’ restoration by an E9 specialist, work that covered a top-to-bottom overhaul of the M30 2.8L straight six, full cabin retrim in light tan leather with walnut veneers and full body restoration and repaint. The vendor, who has owned the car for 26 years, tells us that he only uses it three times a year in warm weather, which likely explains why it remains in such good order.
The car is reported to be factory standard and run ‘as it should.’ Any early E9 is now a rare find, but one as good as this especially so.

“The interior has been completely restored and presents in excellent condition. It’s finished in a classy beige/brown leather throughout, including the seats, door panels, and dashboard.
