The Appeal
Inspired by the remarkable success of the Ford Model Y, the Morris 8 started off as a fairly straightforward, upright radiator design - but by '38, had developed into a distinctively deco car indeed - with a waterfall grille, headlights in the wings and an overall longer, heavier, and wider stance. It was an unusual break from conventional practice, and garnered plenty of admiration.
It's become an endearing classic indeed, too. Thanks to its willing 918cc sidevalve engine, simple mechanicals and charming period styling, it offers an accessible and rewarding entry to the post-war period of motoring, while still being capable of being a little town car.
This 1947 example has been in the current ownership since 2019 and has benefited from substantial recent mechanical investment, meaning the major components are essentially fresh. Previously used as a wedding car, it presents well and comes with an extensive history file. While not concours, this is a well-sorted car that's bound to prove a rewarding classic. image.png1.59 MB
