- Stored in the USA until 2020, when it arrived in the UK

- Pretty car in repainted cream with retrimmed red leather
- Factory standard car throughout
- Mechanically restored with so little use, it still needs to be run-in
The Appeal
The TC was MG’s first new post-war model, but it didn’t mess with a winning formula. Wider than the TB and with a more refined engine thanks to a new hydraulic timing chain tensioner, it proved a massive overseas hit during Britain’s ‘export or die’ drive.
This very pretty cream '49 TC spent its life in the dry climes of South Africa until 1969, when it was exported to the USA. It remained there until 2020, before arriving in the UK. We’re told that it spent time in storage before being extensively restored four years ago, the work covering virtually every area of the car from paintwork and bodywork to trim and mechanicals.
We’re told that it remains factory standard throughout. It is a really eye-catching example, the classic cream paintwork, tan roof and red leather interior working very well in the photos. The vendor states it is driving very well, though notes it will need running in following the total overhaul.
The vendor says:
“Standard specification but after total overhaul will need running in. Some background history available. After a thorough restoration within the last few years, the MG is in stunning condition, driving perfectly."
