The Appeal
After making his name in the 30s with highly competitive, lightweight cycles, founder August Rabeneick branched out with the F250/2, powered by ILO-Motorenwerke’s well-regarded JLO two stroke, parallel-twin engine. Equipped with great chassis, these bikes channeled the firm’s high engineering standards and proved very reliable.
Today the F250/2 is regarded as one of the best of the early post-war German bikes and survivors as good as this 1959 example tend to be sought after. It is a really tidy example with some great detailing that has just been released from the seller’s large collection.
The bike carries German papers and would make a great addition for any collector of Rabeneick’s well-regarded output.
