The Appeal
The Series IIA is widely regarded as the definitive classic Land Rover, combining the iconic styling of the early models with improved performance and usability over the original Series I.
This 109" long-wheelbase example started life in the military. At some point, it gained a Series III bulkhead and dashboard/controls and was eventually registered in 1973 ('L' suffix). It has undergone a previous body-off restoration and benefits from a 2022 engine rebuild by specialist Glencoyne Engineering. It presents in exceedingly smart condition for its age while retaining all of its original character:

"The previous owner carried out a Haynes-recommended 3,000-mile service at 50,229 miles on 22/04/2023. The service also included flushing out and replacement of the brake and clutch fluids, and replacement of all fuel hoses with ethanol-resistant hoses.
"Last April the underbody was professionally cleaned and WaxOyl preservative applied. Last June, I stripped, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt the carburetor; fitted a new electronic ignition, coil and spark plugs; and replaced the front differential oil seal. It also has new wiper blades fitted.
