The Appeal
The MG BGT was oft-hailed as one of the most beautiful cars ever built in Britain. Pininfarina's elegant fastback design paired perfectly with BMC's familiar B-series engine to create a fun, charismatic little car that was as endearing as it was eminently drivable - and the Sebring-inspired look of this example adds further visual distinction.
This BGT was built in 2010 on an MGOC Heritage shell, painted in Snowberry White at the MGOC workshop, with parts sourced from the MGOC shop. The Heritage shell means the car has never required welding - a notable advantage considering BMC's traditional love of corrosion. The build is well documented with a good collection of receipts.
The current owner purchased the car in April 2023 after a period of garage storage and undertook a thorough re-commissioning. This included servicing, new shock absorbers, rear brake cylinders and shoes, an overdrive gasket and filter, and anti-roll bar bushes. The twin SU carburettors were tuned with new needles and jets, and further work has seen a brake servo, Greenstuff front brake pads, a new water pump and heater valve all fitted. Electronic ignition has also been installed.

- Headlining is in good overall order, though a small section has come loose above the windscreen
