The Appeal
For those in search of a usable classic, a Series Land Rover is a fantastic option. Our vendor has used their Series IIA regularly, taking part in rallies and road runs, using it for logging, and generally enjoying the sensation of bumbling around these cars do so well. For many, the Series IIA is considered the greatest of the leaf-sprung Land Rovers. It features numerous enhancements over the original Series I, while lacking the plastic grille and dashboard associated with the Series III.
This late IIA 109", resplendent in a gently patinated coat of Marine Blue, has never let its owner down.
During the current ownership, the vehicle has been fully undersealed and WaxOyled, and has received routine servicing including an oil change, fresh filters, plugs, points and a condenser. A new carburettor was fitted in late 2025. The chassis has been attended to over the years, and the bulkhead is reported to be sound. With a relatively recent soft top and a selection of further improvements detailed below, this Series IIA presents a solid basis for continued enjoyment.

Was it always a 2.25 petrol? I can't quite read the chassis number - does it begin with 2511, 2761, 3450 or something else? Cheers
