The Appeal
The Dresda Triton elevates the classic Triton concept, a Norton Featherbed frame paired with a Triumph parallel twin, to a level of engineering and finish far beyond the typical home-built example. With builds carried out by the renowned Dave Degans and Russell Vann, Dresda-built Tritons are highly regarded among enthusiasts for their quality, performance and handling.
This particular machine was completely stripped and rebuilt at Dresda in 2010, with all chassis fabrication carried out by Russell Vann. The specification is comprehensive, covering engine internals, ignition, braking, suspension and chassis, full details of which can be found in The Detail section below.
In current ownership since 1995, having been purchased from a friend who had owned it for 17 years prior, this Triton has been always garaged and used sparingly since the rebuild. The vendor informs us it is in very good condition, having recently had an oil change with no leaks. Two small dents are noted in the alloy tank, along with minor scuffs and paint chips consistent with careful use over time. The vendor considers this one of the best Tritons available for performance, handling and quality of engineering, and having owned other Tritons, rates Dresda versions as a significant step above average examples.
