The Kawasaki KZ900 is one of the most significant Japanese motorcycles of the 1970s, building on the legendary Z1's formidable reputation with a refined inline-four engine that helped define the superbike era. These machines remain highly sought after by collectors and riders alike, and good examples are increasingly hard to find.
This 1976 example has benefited from considerable mechanical attention. The top end has been rebuilt with new pistons, valves, valve stem oil seals, a complete camchain kit and camshaft bearings. The carburettors have been rebuilt, the electrical system renewed, and the suspension refreshed front and rear. A twin disc brake conversion has been carried out, and the machine is described as retaining its original stamped exhausts. The vendor describes it as being in lovely condition and a joy to ride, with all switchgear and instruments working as they should. Some age-related marks are noted, as one might expect of a motorcycle now entering its 50th year, but this KZ900 presents as a well-sorted and usable classic.
