Highlights
- Complete and generally tidy restoration project
- Current keeper since 2009
- Dry stored and few miles since last MOT in 2013
The Appeal
Few classic roadsters are as easy to own and straightforward to maintain as Abingdon’s B. Which is why we like this 1977 restoration project. For the right buyer, who will have access to the model’s renowned parts supply and many knowledgeable owners and specialists, it represents an interesting project.
The current keeper acquired the car in 2009 and it was last MOT’d in 2013. It has covered barely 50 miles since that test. It appears to be complete and generally tidy, with obvious areas for the buyer to attend to in the photos. The interior is well kept and the car comes with a usable roof and useful tonneau.
Key Information
- Mileage: 95,313 miles displayed (not warranted)
- Country of registration: United Kingdom
- Technical inspection status: MOT exempt, last test expired September 2014
- Technical specs: 1,798cc 4cyl twin carburettor engine, 4spd gearbox with overdrive
- Paperwork: V5C, various invoices and paperwork as shown
The vendor says:
"Been in the family since 1998. It was a non-runner from 2003 to 2009 - Fuel pump issue. 2009 - 2013, gradually made small improvements, some electrical rewiring, as per images and receipts, as funds allowed, whilst keeping the vehicle running. The engine was turned over regularly until 2021. A dead battery and time (young family) have prevented me from getting to the vehicle since then. The overdrive does not click in I have established that there power to the solenoid but got no further than this, as per the last MOT floor pans require some attention. It's a leaded engine, so it runs on unleaded with an oil additive. Reluctantly selling, lack of time permits to attend to a vehicle of this calibre and someone should be enjoying it."
