The Appeal
The Porsche 911 SC represents the air-cooled 911 at its most refined and dependable, combining the visceral character of the 3.0-litre flat-six with the mechanical robustness that has made the G-body a perennial favourite among driving enthusiasts. It remains one of the most accessible and rewarding ways into air-cooled 911 ownership.
This 1980 right-hand-drive example in Guards Red underwent a glass-out restoration in 2016. Tuthill Porsche has maintained the car from 2016.
Inside, the cabin was refreshed with Pepita fabric seats, a leather-covered instrument panel and leather door panels.
In 2025, the engine was removed for a clutch replacement and crankshaft seal renewal using genuine Porsche OEM parts. The seal replacement resolved the last annoying small leaks onto the garage floor. Looking underneath the car the underbody is straight and rust free.
Backed by an extensive service history spanning some 30 years and an MOT valid until May 2027 with no advisories, this is a 911 SC that the vendor states is ready to drive at a moment's notice. The vendor is happy for anyone to come inspect the car which is at his home near Tamworth.image.png635.64 KB
