The charm
The BMW 6 Series from the early 1980s is a highly regarded grand tourer. With its 3.5-litre straight-six paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, the 635CSi is a version particularly geared towards driving pleasure. The seller highlights that the combination of a leather interior and a manual gearbox is especially sought after.
This 1983 example, originally French, is on its third owner and has been in the hands of its current owner for around fifteen years. During that time, the car has been returned to roadworthy condition and has benefited from a major mechanical overhaul: suspension fully renewed, rear subframe and differential bushes replaced with genuine BMW parts.
Bodywork-wise, the car shows wear consistent with its age. The seller says the paint and lacquer are in generally good condition and the chassis rails are sound. Some areas still require attention, and several replacement parts are supplied for the outstanding work. Registered on a classic carte grise with matching numbers, this 635CSi makes an interesting basis for enjoying the car or continuing its restoration. image.png1.97 MB

✓ VAT is included in the buyer's deposit. VAT may or may not be included in the final offer or bid price, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want the transaction to run smoothly, just as you do, which is why cars and motorcycles registered in the United Kingdom and listed on Car & Classic are subject to an HPI check to confirm they carry no insurance database markers for damage or theft and are not subject to outstanding finance, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as written off following a total loss at the time the listing is placed on Car & Classic and we provide salvage category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle's status, so it is always worthwhile carrying out a full vehicle history check before making an offer.
✓ Buyers are responsible for collecting or arranging delivery of the vehicle. Importing vehicles may incur customs duties and import taxes. If you wish, we can recommend a third-party transport company that can help. For more details, or to speak to the team, email auctions@carandclassic.com.
