Highlights
- Extremely rare Xantia with the clever Activa suspension setup
- Timing belt replaced 8,000 km ago
- Current Controle Technique valid to September 2027
- Entertaining 150bhp four-door hatchback
The Appeal
Like a cool drink on a summer’s evening, the Xantia had just enough Citroen attitude to make it both easy and interesting to live with. This car cranks up the tech intrigue thanks to its clever Activa active suspension. It was the world’s first active anti-roll system, using hydraulic rams and spheres to keep the car perfectly flat through corners.
The setup gives the attractive Bertone-style Xantia great handling and a really smooth ride for passengers. Along with that, this 1997 example is fitted with the 150bhp 2.0L engine. The cambelt was changed 8,000 km ago in June 2020. The car’s well cared for, with a few cosmetic blemishes visible in photos. The interior is very tidy, highly original and completely unmodified, and it feels comfortable.
With current Controle Technique through September 2027, this economical and practical rarity is ready to go.
