The Appeal
Few cars of the last 25 years feel like nailed-on future classics quite like Audi’s clever TT. From you’re here for the distinctive visuals, the revvy BAM engine or the planted rally-inspired dynamics, this is one utterly compelling package.
The TT sold well, so the problem isn’t finding one. Instead, it’s locating a good one, since many have been driven hard and maintained erratically. This car is one of the best TTs we’ve seen in a very long while. Here’s why.
Firstly, it is the one you want - a BAM-engined Quattro with 225bhp output and a six-speed manual box. Classically finished in silver, it is also unmolested, retaining its factory alloys and leather and suede interior. Then there’s the provenance - this car has been driven by the same keeper from new, first as a company car, then privately owned. He has amassed just 29,000 documented miles.
The history file shows regular servicing to 27,000 miles. We’re told that the cambelt and clutch were changed at 27,595 miles and the fuel pump and battery replaced at 29,030 miles. The current MOT runs to October 2026 with a single minor advisory.
This impressive car is being reluctantly sold due to the vendor’s age. Few TTs offer the range of qualities that this one does. One not to miss.
The vendor says:
“What’s not to like about it, it looks and drives great but at my age (82) with arthritic knees, it’s
time to say goodbye and a shame to be locked up in the garage.”
