The Appeal

Following up a car as good as the F355 was no small challenge for Ferrari’s engineers, but the 360 delivered. The last of the Dino-engined cars but widely regarded as the first of the firm’s modern, usable supercars, it is a canny choice for Maranello enthusiasts who want to drive as well as admire their purchase.

70% of original buyers opted for the new F1-style Graziano automated gearbox, which makes the 6spd manual car rare. Just 478 RHD Spiders were ever built with manual gearboxes, making this car extremely rare. It is the one you want too, because it offers the engagement that these cars thrive on.

First registered in 2002, this car eschews the more shouty Rosso Corsa for a subtler, tasteful silver finish with a smart dark blue roof and interior. A set of well-kept BBS 18 in alloys aid the looks. The car is very well kept, and we’re told it avoids the common ‘sticky switch’ issues that affect Italian supercars of this era.

The history file supports the low mileage. In recent years we’re told the car has been looked after by the same Colchester Ferrari specialist. There are invoices on file from them in 2024 showing close to £9,000 spent on servicing, cambelts and related work. The car has barely covered 1,000 miles since that work. We’re told the last service was 200 miles ago, which includes cambelts, clutch, flywheel bearing and other repairs. Further reassurance is provided by the current MOT, which runs to May 2027 with no advisories.

The 360 is the gem of the modern classic Ferraris. This nicely specified and properly maintained manual rarity stands out.

As an antidote to the traditional eye-catching Rosso Corsa, this subtly understated silver 360 is very appealing. It is well kept too, the paintwork and interior showing few indications of its 25 years.

The neat details include BBS Challenge-style 18in BBS alloys and matching dark blue roof and interior. The cabin is particularly well preserved and we’re told has avoided the usual ‘sticky switch’ issue that can be common to the 360. In place of the original head unit is a modern stereo with navigation, Bluetooth and reverse camera.

As the last of the Dino-engined Ferraris, an engine that traces its origins back to the 1950s through some of the greatest Maranello masterpieces, the 360 offers drivers a spine-tingling soundtrack. That’s a further benefit of the Spider roof.

This car, as we’ve said, is one of the exceptionally rare manual gearbox cars with a gated 6spd shift. In recent years it has been entrusted to Jardine Ferrari, where in 2024 close to £9,000 was spent on servicing, cambelt work and a replacement clutch. The car has covered very few miles since. The current MOT carries no advisories.
