The Appeal

Audi’s RS2 led the way, but it was the 4.2L 450bhp twin turbo C5 RS6 that essentially invented the idea of the super estate, a big load lugger with the pace of a Lamborghini, Ferrari or Porsche. This rather special 2005 car takes what the factory started and takes it considerably further with a host of deep-dive improvements.

The headline changes are that professionally fitted 6spd manual, which replaces the rather sluggish 5spd DSG unit fitted to all factory cars. Then there’s the MRC tuning pack, which takes power to 526bhp. Elsewhere, the suspension, brakes and intercoolers have all been attended to. What perhaps makes the car especially appealing is that, aside from some grey anodised alloys and dechroming, it looks exactly like a standard RS6 Avant.

The vendor acquired the car in 2024 and has subsequently spent £5,000 via specialists to maintain and improve it. The cambelt was replaced during the 2024 gearbox conversion at 126,000 miles. Other work has included fitting BC BR coilovers, a gearbox service, engine gaskets and other work, a brake fluid change, and a full service. In April 2026, the rear pads and callipers were replaced. A reputable specialist completed all work, as shown in the invoice photos. The car carries an MOT to April 2027 with no advisories. The vendor’s work builds on an already impressive maintenance history, shown in photos and summarised below.

This is a much-improved and well-kept example of a genuine modern classic.
