The Appeal

Pierre Terblanche had a tough job because his new bike had to replace the iconic 916. World Superbike Championship wins in 2003, 2004 and 2006 by Hodgson, Toseland and Bayliss proved he succeeded.
Later models like this 2006 example eschewed the original's controversial ‘stack light’ look in favour of a more integrated, stylish design. As a 999S, it features race-derived brakes, adjustable titanium nitride front forks and Öhlins rear shock absorber and steering damper. Power was tweaked slightly over the standard bike to 145bhp. This bike is finished in very rare and certainly eye-catching Fly Yellow and has covered just 12,000 miles in its 20 years.
The vendor bought it in 2024 from a previous keeper who we are told kept the bike in his house. Since purchase, he tells us he has serviced it regularly and recently replaced the belts and valves, and serviced the brakes. The current MOT runs to June 2027 with no advisories.
This is a well-presented example of Ducati's brutally capable superbike.
