The Plus

As technically innovative as it is beautiful, the magnificent Aurelia B20 is one of the greatest cars to emerge from a country renowned for its many great cars.

The B20's appeal lies in its looks and its ingenious V6 engine, the world's first in a production car. Both 2-litre and 2.5-litre versions were available. But this was a car first and foremost designed for driving, equally at home on international stages or country roads.

Pininfarina built just 2,640 magnificent 2.5-litre B20s like this one, and this is one of 189 assembled in 1954. Magnificent in its burgundy livery, it is in very good condition. A recent, detailed independent inspection gives the car a glowing bill of health.

In the hands of its current owner for many years, it is quite simply an extremely attractive car.

The engine

  • 2.5-litre 60-degree V6 engine
  • 118 horsepower
  • Weber 401DCZ5 carburettor
  • 4-speed manual gearbox rebuilt in 2019
  • Clutch replaced in 2022
  • We recommend that you refer to the independent inspection report.
  • The overall mechanical condition is praised in the same report
  • No mechanical or operating problems reported by the seller
Beyond its elegant styling, the B20's main asset was its ingenious V6 engine, the first of its kind in a production car. Two capacities were available, of which the 2.5-litre, 118bhp version fitted to this car is undoubtedly the most sought-after. It offers performance that makes the most of the vehicle's manoeuvrability.

The independent inspection report for this car - dated July 2023 - provides useful information on the mechanical condition. The car is listed as being in very good condition, with no problems to report.
