2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet (997.2)

  • 39,481 miles from new
  • Superb black-on-black specification
  • 522bhp twin-turbo, 3.8-litre flat-six
  • All-wheel drive with PDK
  • Fine service record and history

The Appeal

As Porsche has developed the 911 over the decades, the Turbo variant has gone from being known as “the widow-maker” in the 80s to the automotive equivalent of a Saturn V rocket in the 21st century. Brutally fast, but offering high levels of grip and stability from its permanent all-wheel drive system, the 997 Turbo S is perfectly capable of embarrassing exotica costing four or five times as much.

This lovely cabriolet example offers everything you could want from a high-performance sports car – luxury appointments, the choice of open-top motoring, incredible power delivery and an enigmatic exhaust note. Add to that this car’s low mileage, fine history and excellent presentation and you have a most compelling machine.

Swathing the seats, dash, centre console and door cards, the black leather in this Porsche’s interior is soft, supple and presented in beautiful condition. With such low mileage for its age, it’s little wonder that the seats show hardly any evidence of wear and tear, just the merest hints of use.

Complementing the inky leather are black carpets and branded OEM floor mats, all showing in fine condition, with no threading, curling or staining we could see. This all gives the cabin a luxuriously sporting, cosseting, cocooning feel. To quote Spinal Tap, it could be “none more black”.

All of the trim and switchgear looks to be in fine order, with minimal signs of wear, just the odd minor blemish or scuff as you’d expect from a 12 year old car with low mileage. We particularly enjoy the yellow seat belts and instrument faces, which bring a splash of colour into the interior and certainly add to the sporting focus of the styling.

We’re informed by the vendor that everything in the cabin functions perfectly, with no issues, gremlins or faults to be reported.

At the front, under the bonnet, is a useful luggage space. This contains an OEM wind deflector, complete in its carry bag. So, even with the roof down, you can arrive looking unruffled and neatly primped.

The Exterior

  • Metallic Basalt/Diamond Black paintwork
  • Black fabric convertible roof
  • Bi-Xenon headlights and LED indicators
  • Active rear spoiler
  • Original 19-inch alloys

Finished in scintillating black paintwork, this is a very handsome machine. The paintwork shows exceedingly well, with a fine gloss and no notable marks, blemishes or scratches we could identify, other than a very minor scuff by the near-side front wheel arch.

Likewise, the bodywork is smooth and neat, with no signs of corrosion and no damage we could discern. Similarly, the trim, glass and badging all appears to be complete, undamaged and in very fine fettle.

That triple-layer fabric roof shows no evidence of UV damage, rips or significant wear. It operates as it should, raising or dropping smoothly and in less than 20 seconds – ideal for when the sun decides to suddenly peek out from behind the clouds.

The wheels are the correct factory 19-inch items, the 14-spoke design being finished in gloss black to match the bodywork, with a polished lip to add a dash of bling to proceedings. They are shod in a quality set of Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, which look to have good tread depth and no obvious sidewall damage we could discern.

Underneath is very neat and tidy, with no signs of damage or notable corrosion. There is a little surface corrosion to some of the suspension elements, as you’d expect, but generally it looks to be in fine condition.

The Mechanics

  • 522bhp twin-turbo, 3,797cc flat-six
  • All-wheel drive
  • Seven-speed PDK transmission
  • Sport and Sport+ modes
  • Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes
  • Variable Turbine Geometry
  • Sport Chrono Package Turbo
  • Porsche Stability Management
  • ABS and power steering
  • Cruise control

That mellifluous 3.8-litre twin-turbo engine delivers its power in heaving great lumps to all four wheels. With 533bhp on tap, it offers incredible performance at the twitch of a toe. In fact, the official top speed is 196mph, while road tests have frequently achieved three second 0-62mph times.

It appears to have been very well maintained too. The engine bay is lovely and clean, with no issues evident, and the service record confirms that this car has clearly been cherished. There is also an invoice for a new centre radiator, which was installed by JZM Porsche of Hertfordshire in 2019.

With carbon ceramic brakes, all-wheel drive and an advanced traction control system, you can have confidence that this 911 will not only provide plenty of thrills, it should help you avoid any spills too.

Breathtakingly fast, wonderfully dynamic and simply gorgeous to look at, this low mileage Turbo S is a real gem of a car. We’re delighted to offer this fine vehicle for sale – we’re sure the new owner will be even more delighted.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

C&C prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3-minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £10,000 £100.00
£10,000 to £50,000 £250.00
£50,000 to £100,000 £500.00
£100,000+ £1000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.
You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you’re able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
