We are pleased to be able to offer, on behalf of a customer, this 1975 Alfa Romeo convertible. Its the coveted 2000 Spider Veloce Series 2 model, finished in silver with black soft top. The car is now tax and MOT exempt.
The main differences introduced from 1970 for the Series 2 range was a restyled rear, an new grille, more steeply raked windscreen and numerous minor detail changes. It also saw the introduction of the more powerful 1962cc twin cam engine developing 132bhp. 1975 saw the introduction of two small seats in the rear allowing the car to be named a 2+2 four-seater.
The car we have been commissioned to is in good condition for the year and drives very well. The 2 litre twin cam is a fabulous powerplant, free-revving and giving the car very respectable performance. This vehicle would benefit from some cosmetics in the future, but its a genuine car purchased by the present owner 11 years ago. It has a very comprehensive history file with a multitude of old invoices, receipts and MOTs confirming its recorded mileage of 92, 000.
The car had an extensive mechanical and body restoration in 1998 costing around £12000 by Lombarda Sport of London, some images of which are included in the history file.
