Description
1975 Jaguar XJC 4. 2 Auto. Greensand (original colour) with beige leather interior. 62k miles. MOT until May 2019 with no advisories. Tax free. It is a matching numbers car, evidenced by the Jaguar Heritage certificate, 2 sets of keys etc
Car has been off the road since 1983 (last recorded MOT and tax) and was dry stored pending a restoration that stop started until I purchased three XJCs all requiring restoration. This is the third and final car to be restored and is remarkably solid underneath - these cars are well known for water ingress through the pillar-less design and are renowned for rot. This car has obviously been dry stored as is very solid throughout - floors, sills, chassis (any inspection welcome). The car has had a full professional respray in early 2018 and a new vinyl roof and bumpers.
Mechanically the car has had a full engine, brakes, steering overhaul with many new parts including a new AED unit. It starts and runs as it should. Steady 40psi oil pressure and no overheating issues whatsoever. Gearbox is smooth. Brakes are firm. Suspension is as it should be.
Inside it has had new carpets and headlining. Seats are in original cinnamon leather with lovely patina but could be refurbished by the new owner as desired (no rips or tears). I also added a remote control oyster shell door mirror
Unfortunately there is virtually no history with the car (as the previous owner had not received any) but the heritage certificate shows the matching numbers and authenticity of the car. It has been worked on by a couple of Jaguar specialists who confirmed the condition of the car - the car is open to any test.
Car is near Baldock, Herts. Please email any questions. Serious enquiries only please.
