We are delighted to offer for sale car/ chassis No M-A2S4 – S/ 203648.
This vehicle rolled off the Cowley production line on 14th June 1963 at the time of the Profumo Trial and five days later was dispatched to Westover Grove Limited Bournemouth. The Beatles were topping the charts with their first No 1 ‘From me to you’.
First registered on 27th Aug 1963 in Weymouth, little is known of its history prior to 1974.
The car was resprayed light blue and was such when it resided in Somerset until 1995 where it moved to Wiltshire and was lovingly & painstakingly restored by Bob Moore.
Returning to its original colour of Smoke Grey and sympathetically retaining as many of the original parts as physically possible accepting the odd blemish, in order to retain its heart & soul.
In 2005 the engine was reconditioned and the gearbox rebuilt and the opportunity was taken to convert the head to run on unleaded fuel.
Named ‘Bob’ out of respect to its restorer we are indeed the beneficiaries of his labour of love and KFF971 the vehicle formerly known as VFx253 will remain cherished for many years to come.
