First road registered as '6666MX' by Middlesex county council on February 13th 1976, this sleek two-door Daimler was reconfigured as a four-seater Roadster many years later. An accompanying engineer's report from Forge Garages of Gillingham, Dorset notes that runs of steel box section have been continuously seam welded along the entire length of each sill to compensate for the roof's removal. The same document also comments: 'The two long doors of 'ODV 395P' have not sagged on their hinges and they do not foul the top of the door sills, as might be expected of a poor conversion. In short it is perfectly satisfactory and structurally a very sound conversion.
Fully Hpi clear and is registered with DVLA on on the logbook as a 'convertible'
Last owner since 2006 and used very sparingly. In the last few years the Daimler has been treated to, fuel pump, rear suspension springs x4, rear shock absorbers and rear brake pads. Also has been converted to a manual choke setup and a nicely fitting tonneau cover.
Hasn't been used much at all in the last few years due to ill health, was run for a mot last week and the failure sheet is with the car and a copy is pictured in the photos below, no welding is required and the car is structurally solid. Currently starting and does drive but carbs need a good clean and set up, 1 of the carbs is believed to be stuck as it's throwing fuel straight out the overflow pipe. Best described as running but poorly..
Bodywork wise nice and solid with good panel gaps, far from concourse but it's far from concourse money
Interior wise is shabby but all there
Overall the car is best described as a solid vehicle with room for improvement, a little bit of winter tinkering and get it ready for the summer... the mot failure sheet is all easy repairs, view this online or ring and I can talk you through it.
