Among the various XJ models, the Daimler versions always held a particularly special position. They were considered an even more exclusive and luxurious alternative to their Jaguar counterparts. We are therefore especially pleased to offer this Daimler Double Six from the final production year of 1992, built shortly before the end of one of the most popular and reliable generations of its era.
The previous owner acquired the car in 2018 and, as a passionate classic car collector, placed great importance on quality, careful maintenance and excellent technical condition. As a result, this Double Six was never simply a museum piece suffering from long periods of inactivity, but rather a car that was regularly driven, continuously serviced and carefully preserved. Even in the early 1990s, the car received a special wax treatment to protect its bodywork and preserve its condition for the years to come.
In 2021, we sold this Daimler Double Six to its current owner. Since then, the car has continued to be carefully maintained and looked after. We are now pleased to be able to offer the car once again, meaning that we know an important part of its more recent history first-hand.
Today, the Double Six presents itself in a remarkably attractive and well-maintained condition. In addition to its extensive specification for the period, including ABS and a catalytic converter, it is above all the magnificent twelve-cylinder engine that defines the character of this Daimler. Its effortless power delivery and exceptional level of comfort make it a truly accomplished long-distance grand tourer even today.
The accompanying history documents the maintenance and repair work carried out over the years and is, of course, available for inspection. Overall, this is a beautifully preserved and highly authentic Daimler Double Six from the final year of production, with a recent history personally known to us since we sold the car to its current owner in 2021.
