1989 Ford XR2. Possibly the best currently for sale in the Uk . Recent awards at Fordfest and another best of show.
Full restoration to concours standards.
The bodywork/ paintwork is arrow straight and is painted in its original Mercury Grey. All original decals re applied. The plastic trim is as new. The light lenses and glass are free from any scratches etc and again as new. When doing a car to this standard no expense is spared as can be seen underneath. This is as it left the factory in 1989. Everything is new or reconditioned to new standard. Even down to the Blue factory dots of paint when being checked. The engine and engine bay are the same. Where possible everything is original Ford/ Motorcraft inc plug leads, hoses etc. The car has covered circa 70k miles which is evident when driven as drives like a new one. Having had a fortune spent it presents in a condition I think is possibly the best on the market.
It has a factory sunroof which again is as new.
The interior is a step back in time . If you were to go to a Ford dealer in 1989 to buy a new one that’s what it feels like. Amazing !
The Pepper pot alloy wheels are totally unmarked and are factory original color. They are shod with a full matching set of almost new Yokohama radials.
If you are looking for a mint example to re live your youth then you’ve found it . I am sure this car if taken to more shows as has only been to Two will continue to take prizes.
Any Ford dealerships out there I now have an XR3i also possibly the best there is of the same year. Would look fantastic in a showroom.
