EQUIPMENT
Azure Blue paintwork, Azure Blue removable hardtop, Black soft-top, Black tonneau cover, 4-Speed manual transmission, Power steering, Wire wheels, Rear seats, Wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel, Lockable glove compartment, Driver and passenger-side door mirrors, Dash clock, JVC CD player, Seat belts, Spare wheel.

EXTERIOR
The gleaming Azure Blue coachwork presents well throughout, with no signs of corrosion in any of the usual weak spots. The paint itself boasts a deep shine and, while not 100% perfect, is very presentable making this a really usable example. The car is nice and straight along both sides and features good, even panel gaps all round. Finer details such as the lights and brightwork also remain in fantastic condition. The black soft-top is in excellent order with no damage to the fabric or window, and the matching hardtop – a highly sought-after accessory – is also well presented.

INTERIOR
The Series III interior is a great place to be, remaining in stunning original condition with just the right level of patina. The black leather seats have worn extremely well over the years and show only minor wear, as do the carpets, dash, and switchgear. The wooden Moto-Lita steering wheel really adds to the sense of occasion and of course feels wonderful in hand. Glancing across the dash the dials are all still nice and clear, offering the driver plenty of feedback when out on the road. In the boot you’ll find the original floor mat, beneath which the spare wire wheel is located.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
At the heart of the Series III is Jaguar’s brilliant 5. 3-litre V12. On test it’s immediately clear how well this example has been maintained – feeling tight, pulling strongly through each gear, and climbing the rev range with ease. A huge amount of torque is also available, making this a very usable classic to drive in modern traffic. We have just had the car fully inspected and freshly serviced, and we can honestly say it is one of the finest examples we’ve driven.

Major improvements within the last six or so thousand miles include a new propshaft, rear suspension cage refurb, differential rebuild, gearbox rebuild, new clutch assembly with new master and slave cylinders, new brake master cylinder and servo bush, new exhaust straps, gearbox mounting, power steering hoses, fan thermo switch hosing and wiring, new radiator unit and header tank, new ignition system, new rear springs, new starter motor, and a front brake overhaul.

WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The E-Type sits on 15-inch chrome wire wheels, all in near perfect condition with no signs of any corrosion or unsightly curb marking to report. They are shod in a matching set of quality Pirelli P4000 tyres with at least 6mm of tread remaining at each corner. On test the brakes perform well, bringing the car to a halt swiftly and in a straight line. Following inspection, both the discs and pads show plenty of life left.

HISTORY FILE
This wonderful UK-supplied V12 Roadster was first registered in January 1973. It has now driven just 75k miles from new in the hands of only four keepers. Within the History File you’ll find a stack of paperwork comprising invoices, MOT certificates, tax discs, ownership documents, the original handbook, and detailed log sheets recording maintenance and expenditure throughout the car’s life – all fully verifying the original low mileage.

Having seen only the lightest of use in recent years as part of a large private collection, we have just had a fresh service and full mechanical inspection done for the new keeper’s peace of mind. Following a light fettle carried out here this splendid example is once again ready to be driven and enjoyed.
