Jaguar E-type Coupe restoration project.
Exterior: The body is actually in very good condition. There is no visible rust and no rust bubbles. The car was repainted from original silver to black. Most likely it was painted with a spray can. Body is straight and hardly any dents. On the hood the hinges are broken. But there are new parts for this along with the car. The entire piece that goes underneath the grill is along factory new. And also, some other smaller pieces that fits towards the wheel arches. The chrome pieces are all ok and also all glass. Chrome spoke wheels in pretty good condition. Tyres are old! Also, spare wheel is chrome spoke.
Interior: It has a very nice original interior in light blue. This will look amazing with the original silver outside. The interior could use a good clean, but all is in very good condition. Only the carpet is missing over the tunnel. The instruments that I have been able to test works just fine.
Engine: The engine can be started, and it sounds very good. It has a good oil pressure and also a new exhaust system. It has been sitting for many years so you must change all fluids before putting her back to work. Also, automatic seems to work. I did not test this much since there is no brakes. Or I assume that there are no brakes since standing so long. Handbrake is ok. A new fuel tank has been fitted and the twin SU pump is working. We just replaced some fuel hoses.
History: This Jaguar E-type was imported to Sweden in 1990 and have been stored in a heated garage since. Started and moved a couple of times every now and then. I think it is a great project for somebody that wants to give it a new coat of paint and detail it. For sure the total travel is 73400 miles and that would be 117. 400km so there should be a lot left in this Jaguar. A prefect winter project to self-isolate and come back out in the spring with a great V12 classic. A real Gentleman never sits behind anything less than 12 cylinders.
If you are interested I have plenty of pictures and videos. Please! Do understand that this is a project. You will NOT drive away next week. If you have never replaced at least a set of spark plugs this is NOT the car for you.
