LANCIA STRATOS GP4 REPLICA - HAWK HF3000 ROAD CAR.... SUPERB..... FULL DETAILS AND SPEC AS FOLLOWS....
This Hawk Kit was bought in 1990 and completed in mid 1995, skilfully constructed by Stratos Guru Graham Bates, and Denys Jones a geometry expert in GT Racing. It is not the usual put together Amateur kit, every single item has been carefully done to the highest standards by experts. The previous keeper had another one but after viewing this one he had to have it because of its complexity and superb finish.
The car is registered under the donor car on 19-03-1979 with the car chassis number present on the chassis and document V5 with DVLA endorsing the car and issuing a V5 for the car at the time.
This one having the massive added advantage of STILL being registered as a LANCIA which if the car went overseas its easier to register straight away.
The car began its life with a Ferrari Dino engine as per Stratos and 1 of only 2 evr to have the engine fitted, however in recent years its been replaced by the Alfa 3. 0 12v motor which most enjoy, ease of maintenance, reliability and better to work on. The engine was stripped before install and profesionally fitted, with a new clutch also being fitted at install.
The gearbox also checked and everything done to the highest of standards, and is mated to a Ferrari 250 Gto drivetrain/ gearchange with a custom made exhaust set up specifically designed for this car and looks and sounds fantastic with a deep and meaningful burble on start up and idle.
When The engine was swapped a custom made aluminium radiator was installed.
To summarise the Stratos drives and handles beautifully, wonderfully direct sterring wheel with no creaks, squeaks, bangs or rattles, all you hear is the glorious V6 rising in revs as you accelerate towards the horizon, the experience is quite sublime.
The interior is superb which includes EXACT replica seats of the Stratos trimmed in Alcantara, dashboard perfectly replicates the original and another suave Graham Bates touch is the very discreet narrow scoop under the front valance that forces air in to the cabin under the dashboard, keeps the cabin cool on the hottest of days, and the roof mounted air scoop adds to the fresh air !
Over the last 2/ 3 years the car has had a lot of money spent on it including suspensionrebuilt, new hubs, rose jointed arms and Denys Jones has 100% worked his magic on the handling of this car... its lovely firm and direct.
All suspension is " GAZ-Gold "... the business in suspension.

This car has a huge folder full of bills, receipts etc etc for well in excess of £35, 000 and please bear in mind they are ultra rare cars ... a genuine one is near £450, 000 - £500k...
