Exterior: The Volvo Amazon was a great success, and it is easy to understand when you look at it. It is a very beautiful car. I think a lot of people in Sweden still think it is ordinary since there were so many around. However, to find a really good Volvo Amazon is not easy today. And specially when they are in the rare colour 19 (black). This classic Volvo looks stunning today. The black paint is perfect, just like all chrome details. New rubbers and a new front windscreen and trim. The wheels were just sandblasted and fitted with new tyres.
Interior: The burgundy original interior is also in exceptional quality and has only been cleaned thoroughly. Original rubber floor mats with textile on top to soften the feeling. New dashboard and all controls and instruments are working. Many times, I prefer driving my Volvo Amazon over my P1800 since the driving position is so much better.
Engine: The Volvo Amazon uses the indestructible B18 engine. I have owned many Volvo Amazon cars before. And sometimes when you find cars in very original and well-kept state, they have engines that are so smooth and quiet that you can hardly hear them standing on idle. This and the fact that my uncle, the Volvo Amazon specialist, have been fine tuning this car. Normal gearbox and final drive. Good brakes and sound electrics.
History: The Volvo Amazon for sale here was sold new in Sweden January 1966. There have been 7 owners from new and most of them are documented in a chronological owner’s history file. Original handbook and invoices of all the recent work. Original spare, jack and tools. This is a piece of Swedish motor history.
