Description
THIS is my 1973 MGB chrome bumpered roadster. Firstly, my apologies, as try as I might I cannot get red cars to look red with my camera. I need more lessons! She has no hint of light red or orange whatsoever. She is red. Red as a tomato!
Price-wise, I would suggest she is arguably the best buy out there when it comes to early 70s B roadsters. As ever, my cars are offered to the public at trade prices. Anyone is welcome to pay double or even treble my asking price. However this is what you will be getting for the money.
She has only just passed her MoT (no longer required) and passed with no advisories. Earlier the same day, she had failed - but on menial things and nothing structural whatsoever. So you can take a great deal of peace of mind in that department.
She is red, as mentioned above. Looks as though she was previously a mustard yellow shade as there is some evidence of that in the engine bay. Still, it could have been patched up in there and painted black to hide everything as so many of these models have been. But it's clean and showing no repair work. Floor pans and boot area match the car's RED!
Some paint is peeling in the top left hand corner of the boot lid and there is some bubbling along that rear wing seam. Nothing drastic and I have seen a hell of a lot worse. Other imperfections here and there do not really spoil the overall pretty picture that this sports car paints. The driver's seat (their covers) have seen better days. And that's about it.
An MGB (chrome bumpers) listed at under 6k. Even if you wanted to add to her value with a re-spray, you would still be on the right side with this old girl. Take a look at comparable models (even use this very site for that!) and you will see how high the average asking price is!
So, an iconic car at a bargain price. Not everyone wants to spend between 10 and 20k for a B roadster. Not everyone can afford to. So please believe that you will be a getting a really good, sound example here with an MoT until May 2022. If it's not for you, then it will certainly be for somebody else. By the way, she has just seven former keepers which, in the world of classic sports cars, is not bad at all over a period of almost 50 years!
Please don't bombard me with emails asking "is this still for sale?"
If the advert remains in place then that means that the car is still available.
I can also assist with delivery if required and so please ask for a quote. Thanks, Martin. the details below
