This Bentley was originally built as a Standard Steel Saloon but with a very rare Park Ward Division, registered 1st July 1950 to Leon Bagrit of Elliott Bros. London, as mentioned we have the original buff log book showing all the owners, it has been well known in the Bentley Drivers Club since 1973 when Richard Freestone purchased it, he has owned multiple Bentleys over the years.
This Mark 6 starts and runs very well and also presents very well and is in overall excellent condition and needs nothing, just looking after and driving, we have a large history file showing the special build photographs and receipts. The body is constructed on an ash frame with aluminium panels and wings. The front end is very impressive with mesh grille, large Lucas P100 projector headlights and centre spotlight, the tall windscreen offers very good visibility and weather protection, the multiple bonnet side louvres aid cooling and add to the vintage appeal. The spacious and comfortable interior is enhanced by the cutaway doors with substantial wood cappings but it retains the original steering wheel with hand controls, instruments and ignition and light switches. Family owned and enjoyed since 2010. A full tonneau cover is included and one could easily have some side screens made for full wet weather protection.
Stanley Sedgwick, the famous past president of the B. D. C. covered over 90, 000 miles in his Mk VI and once drove one 707 miles in one day, taking a total time of 15 hours 50 minutes from Le Havre to Cannes which was faster than the famous Blue Train which took 17 hours 39 minutes.
The Bentley Drivers Club Badge is sadly not included and will be removed.
This Motor Car can be viewed by prior appointment at the owners home near Ilkeston, Derbyshire, with very good access from the M1 Road and the Mainline Railway. It has been enthusiast owned, this replaced a WO 8 Litre Tourer and has been kept alongside other open classic cars.
