Who wouldn’t agree the Lancia Aurelia is an icon in our automobile heritage?
The new Aurelia was initially launched in 1950 as the B10 4-door Berlina, but the success came in 1951 when the B20 2-door Coupé appeared.
Stylistically a purist design by Mario Boano when working for Ghia, but constructed by Pinin Farina.
Technically very innovative with transaxle lay-out (engine in front – gearbox and rear axle in the back: 50/ 50 perfect weight distribution!), monocoque construction, first all alloy V6 engine production engine, full independent suspension with characteristic “sliding pillar” concept on the front suspension, first car to be fitted with radial tires, etc…
Connoisseurs agree that this early 2-nd series can be considered as the purest early design with the typical little tail fins and art deco headlamp glasses but additionally benefitting from a more potent 80 HP V6 1991cc engine, better brakes, new beautifully designed larger Veglia instruments facing driver, chrome bumpers.
This example in in Amarento red with correctly retrimmed Zegna cloth interior was sold new in the USA and returned many years ago to her home base Italy, where the Aurelia became part of a private classic car collection in Umbria.
Still being matching numbers and colours this Aurelia was carefully restored approx. 10 years ago respecting the cars’ authenticity. Even for the paint finish nitro-cellulose lacquer was selected.
We particularly like the charming white RH steering wheel, the original jack and tool-kit.
Recently this Aurelia was treated to a thorough service including a full brake & front sliding pillar overhaul.
Last but not least: this 2-nd series Lancia Aurelia is Mille Miglia eligible. Would be the perfect and stylish entry in “La Corsa la piu Bella del Mondo”!
We would be delighted to help you make this dream come through. Shall we?
