1965 Pontiac GTO
Genuine GTO, Rebuilt 455 V8, Manual, Fully Restored!
A superb example of a rare, genuine manual 1965 GTO 2 door hardtop with Pontiac history society report, confirming its authenticity, including factory power brakes and power steering. The original muscle car and now an iconic piece of American automotive history. This particular GTO benefits from having a frame off restoration in the states, so it is completely so solid with no sign of any corrosion. The car received further investment upon reaching the UK in 2019, including a repaint in a stunning Cherry Black finish which has a very deep purple metallic tone in the sun. The arches and wings were taken back to bare metal with any filler removed, so the car is now arrow straight and completely solid throughout. The engine was also rebuilt to a high standard, with 455 receiving new pistons, crank, mild cam, valves, rocker arms, pushrods, 750cfm Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock performer inlet, tubular headers and a full March performance pulley system. On top of this the car has a new alloy radiator, updated vintage A/ C system which blows super cold, power steering, four wheel power disc brakes, 4 speed Muncie M21 close ratio gearbox, full Hotchkins suspension, LSD rear end, Hurst line lock, recent clutch and timing chain and oil service. The custom interior presents like new and included fully re-trimmed leather seats with dark red inserts, new door cards, headlining and carpets. The car performs superbly and is a real pleasure to drive, with the power steering making light work of manoeuvring such a big car. The engine runs sweetly, the redline tyres are like new and the power brakes pull the car up with ease. There is a folder of history with the car including the documentation from the PHS, invoices for past work and servicing and photos of the restoration work. A custom indoor soft car cover from classic additions is also included, as well as a new matching spare wheel and tyre. Overall a stunning and perfectly usable example of an iconic and appreciating muscle car.
