1959 Triumph TR3a
New to the showroom – awaiting inspection with more detailed itemised history to follow.
This fantastic TR3a has been all over the world and began life in America before heading to Australia and is now residing in the UK awaiting a new custodian and her next adventure. There are import papers and purchase receipts supplied with the car, there is no additional paperwork for the new owner to fill out.
The car comes to us with a brilliant history file of receipts, paperwork and photos of the full nut and bolt restoration received. From photos and paperwork, it is evident no expense has been spared to create a fantastic vehicle which whilst not concourse, is of a lovely condition which could be instantly used and enjoyed.
The car was originally a LHD car but has been converted to a RHD vehicle and has received some modifications which in no way detract from the specialness of the vehicle. These modifications include the TR4 fully synchro gearbox with overdrive being fitted. For those wishing to take the car back to standard spec, the original gearbox will be provided with the sale.
The list of work undertaken on this car is endless and work and paperwork to prove includes:
- Full body off resto – body tube rust removed, and all welding completed in Australia with a specialist.
- Doors, wings, and parts for completion of resto sourced and fitted in the UK.
- Chassis stripped and refurbished
- All brake pipes and petrol pipes replaced
- New/ refurbished front and rear suspension parts
- Diff rebuilt in Australia
- Engine spec: Total rebuilt (blueprints engine) by Heinz Performance Engineering. Australia, giving TR4 spec with a Newman Cam (TR4 Road Cam). Engine has 87mm Liners fitted with TR4 large Inlet and exhaust valves. New correct Carburettors from UK suppliers. 100tho jets fitted.
- CSI distributor with full electronic ignition fitted
- Modified rear crank seal
- Alloy sump and alloy rocker cover
- High pressure oil sump pump
- All new carpets, seat covers and upholstery
- Period spot lamps fitted
There is a considerable folder of paperwork with this car, and all can be seen and discussed at booked appointments. The car will also be supplied with a pair of side screens, a heater unit, various covers, hood cover and some small new parts.
