EXTERIOR;
Finished in a smooth and mirror finish coat of solid black this Carrera GT looks sensational. The carbon fibre weave which makes up much of this engineering masterpiece remains largely visible across its sleek body. The design seems to get better with age and doesn't seem to have dated one bit since its introduction over 17 years ago.
The paint condition is superb and having been meticulously detailed in house there is not a swirl to be found. The car is completely accident free and presents as a lightly and carefully used example.
INTERIOR;
The interior, dominated by aluminium and soft black leather, is an incredible combination of luxury and race car tech, not to mention the abundance of carbon fibre that make up the main tub as well as the door cards. The cockpit is in superb condition and presents still with a fresh factory leather smell with no major negatives to note. The Pro CD Radio unit with the premium sound system and air conditioning add some minimal considerations for cruising, the cigarette/ 12v socket for phone or sat nav power tucked up in the glove box as standard which many fail to find.
ENGINE;
Opening the rear engine compartment reveals a visual treat; the V10 sat pride of place, cocooned in the carbon fibre monocoque chassis with pushrod actuated suspension and air intake scoops making up this engineering masterpiece. The engine bay is incredibly clean and the mid-mounted normally-aspirated all-alloy V-10 engine immaculate and well serviced throughout its life, fitted with double overhead camshafts (recently checked by Porsche Stuttgart for wear), variable valve timing, titanium connecting rods and a dry-sump oil system ensuring reliable and consistent oil supply and pressure.
Twinned with a traditional 6-speed manual gearbox with a racing-type three-plate carbon clutch it is a potent, very mechanical combination and experience, allowing a top speed of over 200 mph and of course one of the best engine symphony's available. Clutch measurements have just been done during its major engine out service and read at 29. 5mm translating at 50% remaining.
WHEELS;
Yellow monoblock callipers can be clearly seen through the Carrera GT’s five-spoke forged light alloy wheels, 19 inch at the front and 20 inch at the rear, all wheels remain spotless as do the anodised wheel hub nuts, blue on the right, red on the left side distinguishing thread direction. The calipers are part of the awesome Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system that owed little to Porsche road cars at the time, and which continues to provide astonishing stopping power.
The car runs Michelin Supersport N rated tyres all round, all recently replaced by Porsche Stuttgart due to age.
HISTORY FILE;
Designated as a USA C02 car it was supplied to Porsche of Naples, Florida in April 2005. Covering just shy of 3k miles in Florida an engine light provided the first owner with an excellent way to return the car at less than a year old having been dramatically at a loss on his original purchase price.
Purchased back by the factory the car was brought back to Stuttgart and sold into Germany where it has been cared for ever since receiving servicing by Stuttgart and the Main dealer network.
The service book lists 5 service stamps, its most recent just completed on the 25th April 2022 by OPC Stuttgart where it received a full and clear health check, major engine out service and new tyres all round. It is accident free and needs nothing as reported by Porsche.
Currently sitting on EU export papers the car is available Net of tax for export back to Europe, the USA or elsewhere in the World or can be registered in the UK with the taxes paid if necessary.
