Citroen AX 1 litre 3 Door, 102, 000 miles
I am the third owner and have owned the car for nearly 8 years. The previous lady owner had the car for 17 years. I have upgraded the gearbox to a 5 speed (from an AX 1. 1) at around 100, 000 at which time I installed a complete new clutch kit and release bearing.
The car has recently failed the MOT. I have addressed all of the failure items except the emissions.
I have, in the last 2 weeks, installed:
New Lambda Sensor
New Catalytic Converter
New brake shoes
New handbrake cables
New brake hose
New shock absorber
New track rod end
New air filter
I have completed the small amount of welding notified in the MOT.
I have balanced the brakes and replaced the old brake fluid.
I replaced the cambelt at 94, 202 miles.
Water pump replaced at 100, 000 miles.
The car has been 100% reliable and runs very well.
There are no leaks from the engine.
The interior is dry.
There is no rust on the sills, doors, or inside the boot.
Everything works except the reversing light.
Has all 4 original wheel covers.
The interior is nice, though there is wear on the drivers seat despite always having seat covers.
The car looks nice but there are a couple of dings and where a neighbour reversed into the offside front wing, though the paint is not broken.
There is a little rust at the top of the windshield though I treated this and it has never leaked. The windshield has a few stone chips but were not mentioned on the MOT.
The spare, jack and wheel brace are present as are all the handbooks.
The car has always been garaged and well looked after, having oil and filter changes every 5, 000 miles
I am now retired and have to give up my garage so the car has to reluctantly go.
The car is located in Houghton Regis close to Junction 11a of the M1.
