Late (31st October 2000) registered Ph3 GTi6, built 19th September 2000, so one of the last ones off the line, in China Blue.
All the usual Ph3 stuff, it's covered 125k miles, has a huge pile of history in a folder and all the bits needing doing, done. Quite a well known car within 6 circles, it's got a really clean MOT history, has never been welded underneath, stiffener panels/ subframe mounts are in fantastic condition, as are the inner wings/ engine bay.
I've done a fair amount of work to the car to get it back to standard since I bought it. The only mods I'm aware of now are a lightened flywheel, a Scorpion stainless cat back system and non standard gear linkages. It's also had the inlet manifold and cam covers powder coated in a graphite grey colour. It's had a refurbished rear beam from a well known name in the Peugeot scene in the last 200 miles, I've had the front suspension put back to standard, with OEM shocks and springs from another GTi6, OEM bottom arms replacing a pair that had roller bearing bushes, removed a couple of braces, and put the ride height back to standard. I also replaced the obligatory massive come filters these cars seems to always get given with a fully refurbished and powder coated factory airbox set up, with snorkel intake and the resonator.
The wheels had been refurbished prior to me owning the car and are in fantastic condition, running 195/ 50 Michelin Pilot Sport 3's. The interior is in very good condition, the drivers side bolster has been refinished with material from another Peugeot seat, so the colour is slightly off, but the jobs been done very well. It has a battery box cover with mostly unbroken clips and even has the proper Peugeot perspex headlight protectors. The fog lights have also been replaced with new, OEM items. There have been numerous other small jobs and parts I've replaced as well.
Recently been into CG Cars (Peugeot specialist in Leicester, who have maintained this car for a lot of its life), who swapped over all the front suspension, fitted a new starter motor and battery (which resolved the parasitic battery drain), fitted a new cambelt (pump and tensioner whilst older, had done less than 5k so not changed) and resolved a few other minor issues, and completed the MOT.
The car been machined polished and sealed, I managed to locate genuine GTi and 6 badges and have fitted them to the doors and have the ones for the rear. B Pillar trim stickers have been replaced with repros from Rich Boon @ Vehicle Decals
Whilst it's a lovely, useable car, please don't expect perfection. It still needs a few things. The paintwork has a couple of minor defects needing paint, and the car has been painted on a number of panels in its past. The boot lid has some minor rust bubbling, and the radio doesn't work. However, these don't detract from the driving experience, nor the overall look of the car. The stop light on the dash remains illuminated for reasons as yet unknown. A not uncommon issue, Carl replaced a few of the parts which would normally resolve it, but haven't, I've even tried a new clock pod, which also didn't fix it. However, it's not a charging, temperature or oil pressure issue causing it. The car drives perfectly.... and I'm at a loss to understand what causes that currently. At some point, I'm planning on sending the car back in to get this issue resolved.
